US-CERT brings advanced network and digital media analysis expertise to bear on malicious activity targeting U.S. networks.

US-CERT, United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team, leads efforts to improve the nation’s cybersecurity posture, coordinate cyber information sharing, and proactively manage cyber risks to the nation while protecting the constitutional rights of Americans. US-CERT is part of National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center (NCCIC). It accepts, triages, and collaboratively responds to incidents; provides technical assistance to information system operators; and disseminates timely notifications regarding current and potential security threats and vulnerabilities. In addition, US-CERT operates the National Cybersecurity Protection System (NCPS), which provides intrusion detection and prevention capabilities to covered federal departments and agencies. US-CERT is headquartered in Washington, D.C.
