AquaGen is a technology company specialising in solutions to deliver clean, renewable ocean energy. Our key technology, known as SurgeDrive, is a groundbreaking wave energy system which harnesses the energy of ocean waves to produce electricity or desalinated water. In November 2013 AquaGen patented a new technolgy called RigDrive which is a retrofittable module which will tap into the potential energy of an existing rig technology, transforming it from an energy consuming to an energy generating product. The worlds oceans represent a vast, untapped energy source, ready to be harnessed with the right technology. However to date, wave power has been prohibitively expensive to capture and has been unable to withstand the enormous power of the ocean during storms. SurgeDrive overcomes these problems to allow for significantly lower cost wave energy extraction and storm survival.
