The company’s subsidiaries provided securities and commodities brokerage, investment banking, trust services, asset management, retirement planning, investment planning, and insurance products and services. Its principal subsidiary, A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., provided a full range of financial products and services to individual and institutional investors. The firm also offered investment banking services to corporate, governmental, and municipal clients. As of June 30, 2007, A.G. Edwards and its affiliates employed 6,363 financial consultants in 739 offices nationwide and in two European locations, London and Geneva. Client assets totaled $384 billion, while client assets in fee-based accounts totaled $45 billion.
