Company Description
Jostykit or Josty Kit was an electronics company, which was founded in 1970 by the Dane Steen Bolbroe. Jostykit was located at Sortedam Dossering in Copenhagen, where there was production, administration, storage and distribution.
The company sold electronics kits, sound systems, lighting control, engine accessories, components and probably Denmark's first gaming console (Jostykit Multi-TV-Game HF344). The products were sold through mail order catalog and retailers, it was very common among young people who were interested in electronics all over the country. Jostykits have been sold in large parts of Europe.
In fact, Steen Bolbroe and Jørgen Ølgård started building and selling kits as early as 1963, because Assabonga, founded by Frits Lander and Jørgen Larsen, was the supplier of the printed circuits that were to be used to assemble the small kits.
Jostykit published the books Anvendt Elektronik 1-2 (1970-1980), which were written by the Dane Jan Soelberg. From 1994 onwards, Applied Electronics has been published by Teknisk Forlag.
In Sweden, several stores started under the name Jostykit; one of them later changed its name to Josty Data when the focus up through the 80s was shifted to selling finished computers. This still exists and is located in Malmö.
