The Small Island

The Small Island is a platform for game based learning, designed for children ages 5 to 9.

Starting from the concept of learning through play, their mission is to create innovative learning solutions for children. They want to change the way kids and parents look at games by combining educational content, storytelling and game mechanics designed especially for children. They use games and storytelling to trick kids in learning the basic math operations, by packing everything into a child friendly rich universe. The project is about the exploration of this funny world in which four bugs with human like appearance live, being the leading characters for all the games and adventures. Using different media content, children will learn math and develop specific skills through playing games, will become part of each adventure along with their characters and discover values like friendship and creativity :-) The 1st stage of the project is the website - www.thesmallisland.com (Romanian only) - and there they encourage children to experience math through funny and rewarding activities, by playing different games set in this universe. Every day is a new day for adventures on The Small Island. Yuhuuu !!!
