Hardware Description

Mitsubishi Electric announced the MELCOM80 GS700/10 office computer in November 1992. The model ran on a new 1.7 million transistor, fully-customized VLSI single-chip CPU developed by Mitsubishi Electric using 0.8-micron CMOS technology. This was the flagship of the MELCOM80 GS family, which went on sale in September 1991. The GS700/10 had twice the processing power of the previous top model, the GS600/30.
