Bradford Brooks

Leader of a team that developed a global program to test emissions from IBM products and ensure compliance with relevant requirements, Brooks has served as Corporate leader of IBM's Global Toxicology and Chemical Management programs and as a member of IBM's Academy of Technology. In 1991 he joined IBM at Boulder, Colorado as a Senior Scientist / Engineer. Brooks served in several positions until 2011, when he was appointed an IBM Fellow—IBM's highest technical executive rank and honor.

He is recognized for his sustained achievement and leadership regarding IBM's involvement with complex materials used in the electronics and information technology industries. Brooks is a recognized expert in the field of toxicology with a particular emphasis on manufacturing processes within the information technology industry, toxicology risk assessments for I/T products, technologies and materials that were newly emerging for industrial use, environmental risk management, industrial chemical security, and chemical management laws and regulations.

He marshalled innovative scientific approaches to effectively address the broad interests of IBM and its clients, underscored by publications, intellectual property and proprietary assessment models. Brooks authored and co-authored books and other publications, international standards and patents related to toxicology and white collar work environments.

He has served on external advisory boards at the Center for Environmental Implications of Nanotechnology (Duke and Carnegie Mellon Universities), University of Colorado College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and Rochester Institute of Technology, National Technical Institute for the Deaf.
