Bio/Description

Currently the U.S. Program Director for International Technology Alliance in Network and Information Sciences, a research consortium formed from twenty three U.S. and UK industrial and academic members, he was born in Bikaner, Rajasthan, India. He received a B.Tech. Degree from the Indian Institute of Technology-Kanpur (IITK), in 1993, an M.S. Degree in 1995 from the Washington University, St. Louis, MO (WashU), and he received his Ph.D. in 1999 from the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), Urbana, IL, all in Electrical Engineering. From 1999 to 2000 he worked as a Visiting Assistant Professor at UIUC and in 2000, he joined the IBM Corporation, T. J. Watson Research Center, in Hawthorne, New York as a Research Staff Member. He has been managing the Network Management Research Group at the Watson Research Center since 2006. In 2011, he was elected IEEE Fellow for contributions to theory, analysis, and design of efficient, secure, and privacy-preserving communication systems. In 2011, he was also awarded the title of Master Inventor for contributing significant value to IBM's intellectual property portfolio and inventor community.
