Mr. Curt L. Cotner

2004 IBM Fellow and VP/CTO for IBM Data Management, he has technical and management oversight of IBM's Data Studio and Optim products that provide application development and administration support for both IBM and non-IBM database products. He is the Chief Technology Officer for the DB2 family as well as Informix? IDS database servers and has both management and technology oversight responsibility for all the client software offerings used with DB2 and IDS. This includes the client runtime APIs (JDBC, .NET, CLI, pureQuery, etc.) and the application development and administration tools offerings (IBM Data Studio). Prior to taking his current assignment, he was the chief architect of the DB2 for z/OS product, where he designed and developed many key features of the DB2 for z/OS. He holds approximately 40 patents in database technology topic areas. He is also a member of the IBM Academy of Technology.
