Stephen J. Fink

One of the primary developers and maintainers of the T.J. Watson Libraries for Analysis (WALA), which provides static analysis capabilities for Java bytecode and related languages, Fink has been a research scientist at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY. His research interests have included static and dynamic program analysis, programming language implementation techniques, and parallel and scientific computation. He has worked on the Liquid Metal project, a general purpose language designed for heterogeneous systems which mix CPUs, GPUs, and FPGAs. He previously worked on Jikes RVM (Research Virtual Machine), which provided a flexible open testbed to prototype virtual machine technologies and experiment with a large variety of design alternatives.

Fink received his B.S. in Math and Computer Science from Duke University in May 1992, his M.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego in June 1994, and his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego in June 1998.
