2key is a free mobile chat app to securely and privately send text, photo, and video messages. The identities and content of user conversations are protected from outside eyes so people can speak freely. It has all the features people know and love in messaging apps, with enhanced features around increased user control, data security, privacy, and anonymity. User accounts require no personal information and generate a unique key (a code) for each connection, which can be shared via personal or anonymous email addresses and phone numbers, as well as printed keys to give out in person. Users name the connection, verse accessing each other’s profile information, giving each person the ability to stay anonymous if desired. Once connected, users can text message or share photos and videos, with the option to make them self-destruct after a certain time or wipe them from both phones at anytime. A user is notified immediately if the other person takes a screenshot. All data has military grade encryption and is not linked to personal information (as none is captured), not even 2key can access it. 2key is currently available for iPhones through the Apple App Store.
