Advacam is a start-up company found at early May 2012 to commercialize radiation detector technologies developed at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. Advacam commercializes a large area digital colour X-ray imaging camera for light-weight material inspection. The technology is based on hybrid pixel detector technology where a direct conversion of X-rays into charge takes place in silicon sensor, the charge is transferred to a readout ASIC via solder joints and it is immediately converted into a digital form and processed in the readout ASIC. This method allows us to obtain noise-free images and high contrast to visualize the tiny features in the light-weight materials. Advacam’s unique expertise enables the digital imaging technology for science and industrial applications.
