ATEME develops ultra high quality video compression product solutions for broadcasters, pay-tv operators, and telco/cable service providers. In 1991, ATEME began as a technology design company focused on video technology for the French defense industry. As MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and H.264 (MPEG-4 AVC) markets emerged, the company moved into codec licensing and provided codec technology to SlingBox and the popular Nero DVD burning software. In 2006, ATEME changed its business model to a direct solutions provider to Broadcasters, Cable companies, Pay-TV and Telco providers selling video encoding and transcoding products. In 2012, the company concentrates on HEVC/H.265 codec development. Today, ATEME's business is 100% dedicated to this direct model with $22m in sales in 2010. The company is profitable with 97 employees worldwide. ATEME’s main offices are in Bièvres France, Shanghai China, Seoul Korea, Miami FL and Hollywood CA.
