Athletec

Athletec are a UK based startup dedicated to building technology to enhance sport training.

Our first product, Corner, will enhance the effectiveness and direct the focus of training in Combat sport. Corner is a complete ‘Internet of Things’ solution that uses wrist-worn sensors to calculate statistics from every punch thrown by a boxer, and deliver performance feedback through a smartphone app. This process is fully automated to allow the athlete to focus on their training. Data collected in the app is stored on a cloud server and made available to coaches through an online web application, allowing them to analyse data for every user within their gym. Corner provides a solution fit for elite athletes, yet accessible to any athlete striving to improve their performance. The company was founded by three entrepreneurs with expertise in inertial measurement technology, human interfacing and user-centred design. Keen amateur boxers with an interest in wearable technology, the founders conducted a research project at Imperial College London to explore an application in boxing training. Following on from the success of the project, Corner was born.
