Film Forum is nonprofit cinema that presents independent premieres and repertory programming. The cinema presents NYC theatrical premieres of American independents and foreign art films, programmed by Cooper and Mike Maggiore; and, repertory selections, including foreign and American classics, genre works, festivals, and directors’ retrospectives, programmed by Bruce Goldstein. Its third screen is dedicated to extended runs of popular selections from both programs as well as new films for longer engagements. Film Forum aims to present an international array of films that treat diverse social, political, historical, and cultural realities. Film Forum is the only autonomous nonprofit cinema in New York City. It is a 501(c)(3) cultural institution. Film Forum was founded in 1970 and is based in New York, United States.
