Ucingo Trust (Ucingo) was formed by a syndicate of funders whose main objective was to purchase an exposure to Telkom Limited, the main incumbent fixed line telecommunication provider in South Africa. SAIF’s equity interest in Ucingo, acquired in 2001, was disposed of in 2003.
