Vicinity Manufacturing was founded in 2001 with the goal of building a manufacturing system written specifically for and to serve only process, or “formula-based”, manufacturers, rather than a modified discrete/assembly manufacturing system. The efforts of Their three founders were based on a strong belief that, for years, process manufacturers had been under-served by software companies. Existing solutions only partially understood the market and leveraged technologies that had grown old with the times. Their solution was designed with the most appropriate technologies available and engineered to foster growth as technologies evolve. This refreshing contrast to the old approach has helped Vicinity become the new standard for formula manufacturing software.
