Wuala is a secure cloud storage service that enables users to store their files online with client-side-encryption, share them with selected audience, access them from anywhere, setup automatic backups of local data, and synchronize whole folders to the cloud. Data is encrypted locally before it is uploaded and it cannot be accessed by anyone without the user’s authorization. Wuala’s products include Wuala desktop, Wuala mobile, and Wuala business. Wuala was launched in 2007 and is operated and developed by LaCie, a French manufacturer of external storage devices based in Zurich, Switzerland. Wuala's data centers are all located in Switzerland, Germany, and France.
