Bio: 
Dr. Allen M. Johnson, Jr, is an Assistant Professor in Computer Science at Huston-Tillotson University. He has been an advocate for the scholarship of teaching and learning. He has over 35 years of experience in the computer field, developing computer systems, leading an information technology company, and teaching. Dr. Johnson has taught and developed courses in Software Engineering, Distributed Systems and Networks, Real-time Software for Distributed Systems, Project Management, Fault-tolerant Multiprocessor Design, Fault-tolerant Computing, Software Testing, Reliable System Design, Reliability Analysis and many others. Many of Dr. Johnson's courses involved having students develop software for a real client. He has experience in the development of IBM computing systems including the IBM System 360, 370, 145, 138, 148, RS600, and RP3 which was an early research parallel processing system for scientific applications. In IBM, he had considerable experience in management dating back to 1974. He was the founder and CEO of an Inc.500 company, Rainbow Analysis Systems Group, Inc. He serves on the National Advisory Council for the BYU Marriott School of Business. He serves on the advisory committee for Computer Studies at Austin Community College. Dr. Johnson has over 30 publications and patents and earned his doctorate in computer engineering at The University of Texas at Austin.
