Teaching University of Connecticut 1987-1995 – Courses – Introduction to the History of Science/Technology - Factors of Technology affecting Health - Technological aspects of Warfare in the 19th and 20th Centuries - Electrical communication, transportation, and computation. George Mason University (Visiting Professor) 1988 – 1990 Courses in History of Science/Technology Graduate seminars on the development of digital communication systems. Industry Experience Norden Division, United Technologies- 1961-1987 Applications/Systems Engineer Introduced the use of discrete event simulation using GPSS in 1962. Performed system analyses of complex systems using discrete event simulation languages, primarily GPSS. Introduced man-machine interface, graphics, and large scale databases to GPSS simulation. Conducted seminars and aided in establishing computer systems in Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Netherlands, Peoples Republic of China, Spain, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and United States. Designed computer systems for complex real time applications based on militarized computer systems Grants – IEEE Foundation 1997 - 2002 Supported development of a documented database including industrial films made in 1904 of the Westinghouse facilities near Pittsburgh, combined with associated photos and texts of the period. These materials have been transferred to CD-ROM format for educational use: "Time Capsule of 1904: Films, Photos and Texts." The CD-ROM has been widely distributed.
