North Carolina School of the Arts, is a public coeducational arts conservatory.
The University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, is a community of artists that offers a dynamic educational experience in the fields of Dance, Design and Production, Drama and more. The school’s Student Life staff provides many programs and services to assist students with living on their own and to complement their classroom education. A variety of counseling services are available at all times, whether your needs are academic, psychological or health-related. To promote a sense of community, the school requires all students who reside over 25 miles away from the school to live in residence halls for their freshmen and sophomore years. This also places students in the middle of all the exciting activities, performances and events that happen on campus. Academics are offered in the fields of Dance, Design and Production, Drama, Filmmaking, Music and Visual Arts. The school also provides the High School Academic Program to prepare young artists for careers in the performing arts. To ensure a sound educational background, the school requires a supporting curriculum of liberal arts studies. Admissions require students to submit official high school transcripts, ACT/SAT scores and AP credits, if applicable. To be considered for financial aid, students must file a FAFSA by March 1st of the prior academic year. Forms of aid include scholarships, grants, loans and work study programs.
