W-HA was created in 2000 to promote the development of fixed and mobile internet services

W-HA was created in 2000 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Orange to promote the development of fixed and mobile internet services in France. It manages carrier billing systems that allows content and service providers to be paid through the operator invoice. W-HA has also developed expertise in its own payment platform using many additional technologies in the fields of prepaid services, e-money, as well as diverse electronic banking solutions. W-HA is a member of the GIE “Cartes Bancaires” and VISA/MasterCard. In order to offer its services within the framework of banking and financial regulations, W-HA is an authorized Electronic Money Institution. It is also PCI-DSS certified and, as issuer of Orange Money in France, proficient in all aspects of compliance management. In 2016, W-HA processed 116 million payment transactions, accounting for 340 million euros cashed by 8 500 merchants over 8,5 million customer accounts.
