Bio/Description

Named an IBM Fellow in 2003, he has been with IBM in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., since 1983, and has worked on processor performance analysis, processor design and system design, all on the IBM mainframe platform. He made major contributions to a number of System/390 and zSeries mainframe processors and helped to lead mainframe design through the transition from bipolar to CMOS technology. He is currently responsible for the roadmap and technical strategy for future System z processors. He holds more than 50 patents, has received four IBM Outstanding Innovation Awards and three IBM Corporate Awards. He is the author or co-author of several publications including, ?Robust Compatibility is a Cornerstone of the Mainframe?s Staying Power?, March 2014; ?From Silicon to Architecture, zEC12 Innovations Push the Envelope?, November 2012; and ?Fantastic Four?, March 2012.
