If you're looking for the most in battery life, the Dell Inspiron 2600 ($1,078 direct) is the way to go. It scored an impressive 3 hours 35 minutes on our BatteryMark test (over an hour longer than the second-place Gateway Solo 1450SE). It also did very well on Business Winstone 2001 and i-Bench 3.0.
