In 1961, Hitachi, Ltd. was developing computer systems through technical tie-ups with the RCA Corporation and Anelex Corporation (U.S.) In accordance with this, Hitachi Koki took charge of printer fabrication, began production using the knock-down system and parts from the Anelex Corporation, and later successfully achieved domestic production by in-house manufacturing of type drums and hammer modules.
