Hardware Description
From the outside, the Tournament 3 sported the obligatory dials, buttons and switches that had been seen numerous times. The console had 'in-built storage' for the controllers but, in truth, these were just slots at either side of the machine into which the little rotary dial controllers could be plugged. The console had a different layout and was a different shape to other machines. From a technical perspective though it was a carbon copy of not only most other Pong machines but also the majority of the Radofin machines. Sat at its heart was the venerable GI AY-3-8500 CPU running the same six games (two of which still required the optional lightgun). From a technical perspective it was certainly nothing new which meant that, to most buyers, it came to choosing little more than which case design they liked the most.
