The UvA Computermuseum, founded in 1991 and part of the University of Amsterdam's Special Collections department, holds a collection of technical and scientific electronic computing equipment spanning from World War II to the present. It also preserves mechanical and electromechanical calculators, slide rules, and pre-computer scientific computing tools, with many machines kept operational alongside original software and documentation. The museum offers a Data Atelier for reading data from legacy media such as punched cards and paper tape, and provides guided tours by appointment for interested visitors, students, and scientists.
