Bio/Description
Developer of the GKS Standard (Graphical Kernel System), Encarnação has made foundational contributions to computer graphics. He has served as Professor Emeritus of Technical University Darmstadt, and founded graphics research centers in Germany, Portugal, Rhode Island, and Singapore, establishing an international presence in the field.
He chaired the IT group within the Fraunhofer organization and initiated and led research activities in computer graphics, virtual reality, and augmented reality.
